AVON

  • Project Name: Avon Sidewalk Replacement

  • Explanation of the request: This project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because funding would be used for the second and final phase of sidewalk replacements along West Avon Road, Country Club Road, and Scoville Road and includes the replacement of 5,580 linear feet of sidewalk. Four of Avon’s five public schools are located in the project area and will be directly served by the sidewalks. The project will also service the secondary village center development that was created as a neighborhood business zoning district in the 1960s, facilitate easier and safer access to the Sycamore Hills recreation complex, and link West Avon Road to the 4.8 miles of the Farmington Valley Greenway that run through town via Scoville Road. 

CORNWALL
