Waterbury, CT -- Today, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) announced the inclusion of her requested Member Designated Projects in the proposed Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation (INVEST) in America Act.

The five projects selected for consideration, totaling $17.4 million, span the Fifth District in city centers, small towns, and rural areas. The requested projects included are in Morris, Brookfield, Meriden, Danbury, and Simsbury. All of the projects are considered shovel-ready for construction. “The inclusion of my requested projects in this infrastructure package will bring $17.4 million back to the Fifth District for transportation improvements. I will continue to champion the inclusion of these projects as the package moves through Congress for final approval,” said Congresswoman Hayes.

The INVEST in America Act is a five-year, $547 billion surface transportation reauthorization bill that will create good-paying jobs to rebuild and reimagine America’s surface transportation infrastructure. The INVEST in America Act will be considered by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on Wednesday. More information on the bill can be found here
