WATERBURY, CT – Today, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) announced the expansion of her signature ‘Casework on Your Corner’ program with a new location in Simsbury.

Throughout 2025, Eno Memorial Hall will host the Office of Congresswoman Hayes on the second Wednesday of each month for ‘Casework on Your Corner’ office hours.

The first event in Simsbury will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 754 Hopmeadow St, Simsbury. Caseworkers will be on-site to help residents with issues involving federal agencies such as the Social Security Administration (SSA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), among others.

“As my office works to serve the people of the Fifth District, our successful Casework on Your Corner continues to help constituents better access federal resources,” said Congresswoman Hayes. “This year, we are expanding the program to Simsbury so more residents can meet with our team and we can open cases in real time.”

Since taking office in 2019, the Office of Congresswoman Hayes has closed more than 150 cases for constituents in Simsbury – including helping to return over $2.1 million to Simsbury residents. Hosting Casework on Your Corner events in Simsbury will build on this record and increase resources available to town residents.

Congresswoman Hayes and her dedicated casework staff are available to help constituents navigate problems with any federal agency including the:

  1. Social Security Administration (SSA)
  2. U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
  3. Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
  4. U.S. Department of State (DOS)
  5. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
  6. U.S. Postal Service (USPS)

If constituents are experiencing an issue with a federal agency or have a question, they are encouraged to attend a “Casework on Your Corner” event or call 860-223-8412.

What constituents are saying:

“The Office of Congresswoman Hayes responded to my email seeking for help with my 80-year-old mother's green card application. The Office responded right away, and it has been always that way, as if we were the only family they were working with. After years of delay, within a few months of received assistance from the Office, my mother's application was processed, and our family was reunited! We are truly grateful for all the help and support your office provided,” said Qing from Simsbury.

“My father, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, passed away in 1984. I knew very little about his military service. I contacted Congresswoman Hayes' office to get information on any medals or decorations that my father may have earned due to his service in Korea. Her office was not only able to provide that information but was also able to obtain replacement medals and send them to me. Special thanks to the caseworker who stayed on top of this from start to finish, keeping me constantly informed with frequent updates and giving me peace of mind that my father was not going to be forgotten,” said William from Simsbury.

“I cannot thank Congresswoman Hayes and her incredible staff enough for the help they gave me with my passport application. At first it did not look like I would get my passport in time for my trip due to the increasing backlog at the passport agency, but with their help I was able to get my passport with a couple days to spare and go on a very special trip with my family. I honestly would not have made it on this trip if it were not for everyone who helped on behalf of Congresswoman Hayes. Thank you again for your willingness to help,” said Morgan from Simsbury.
