WATERBURY, Conn. – Today, United States Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) released the following statement after the Trump Administration officially began withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord:

“The decision by the Trump Administration to withdraw from the landmark Paris Climate Accord is irresponsible, irrational, and dangerously close-minded. The science is clear: climate change is real and it is here. We need to be doing more to repair the damage done to our planet, not backing away from the necessary steps. A failure to act is a theft from our children’s future. I urge the Administration to reverse this decision in the strongest possible terms.”
