Dear Friend,

Last weekend, I was pleased to join the Farmington River Valley community in celebrating the "Wild & Scenic Designation" for the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook.

I joined constituents to celebrate the new National Parks Service "Wild and Scenic" Designation of the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook on the Old Drake Hill Flower Bridge.

I was proud to vote for S. 47, the John D. Dingell, Jr Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act, a historic land and water package that designates the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook as "Wild and Scenic"  under the U.S. National Park Service. This area could now receive as much as $175,000 in federal funding to assist volunteers and officials with conservation efforts.

Like you, I understand how crucial it is to conserve our local public lands and natural resources. Federal funds now accessible through this "Wild and Scenic" designation will help to ensure that the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook are preserved for future generations. Please know that I am continuing to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to ensure that we conserve our public lands and waters for all to enjoy.
