Today, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) released the following statement after the House Democratic Caucus elected Representative Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) to serve as the House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman in the 117th Congress:

“Congratulations to our very own Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, who was elected chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee for the 117th Congress.

“I know Congresswoman DeLauro will work on the committee to prioritize federal spending bills that provide adequate funding for health, education, childcare, infrastructure and other investments that stabilize families, improve communities and reflect our values.

“She will be a tremendous chairwoman and I look forward to continuing to work together to bring much needed funding back to our state. Congratulations, Chairwoman, Connecticut is behind you.”
