WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) voted in support of the bipartisan America Creating Opportunities for Manufacturing Pre-Eminence in Technology and Economic Strength or America COMPETES Act, a comprehensive, strategic package that makes groundbreaking investments in American research, innovation, and manufacturing.
“As the global landscape continues to change, the time to modernize American manufacturing is now. The America COMPETES Act will financially secure our supply chains, expand equitable economic opportunity, and ensure more essential goods are made right here in the United States,” said Congresswoman Hayes. “This stabilizing legislation also included three of my amendments that collectively remove barriers for students, workers, and businesses to contribute to solving the most important issues of our time. From curbing the impacts of climate change to improving our national security to promoting societal equity – the America COMPETES Act will foster innovation and ensure our country remains a global leader for generations to come.”
The Hayes amendments included in the final bill text will:
