WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Jahana Hayes released the following statement on the situation in Gaza:
“The events before and after October 7th make one thing clear - the violence and hostilities in the region must end. The reported deaths of innocent Palestinian civilians in Gaza City awaiting desperately needed aid further demonstrate the dire situation and the need for immediate action.
It has been reported that the Biden Administration is involved in multilateral ceasefire negotiations. I unequivocally support these efforts and eagerly await a deal that immediately halts the violence, releases the hostages, and delivers desperately needed humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians.
I will continue to support any efforts that facilitate the release of all hostages, eliminates Hamas, and promotes a two-state solution that creates lasting peace, security, and stability for the Israeli and Palestinian people.”
