Waterbury, CT â€” Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) released the following statement on the incident at the U.S. Capitol.

“I am deeply saddened by the events that took place at the Capitol yesterday resulting in the death of Officer William Evans. Just months after the January 6th attack on the Capitol, the men and women of U.S. Capitol Police continue to put their lives on the line to protect the Capitol complex, members, staff and visitors. I am so grateful for the service of the Capitol Police, National Guard, and all who keep us safe and hold the family of Officer Evans in my prayers,” said Congresswoman Hayes.
