WATERBURY – On Sunday, June 30, 2024, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) was pleased to welcome House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) to the City of Waterbury, where they attended the Fifth Sunday Worship Service at Zion Baptist Church led by Pastor Antwaun Richardson. This is the second time Leader Jeffries has attended church services in Waterbury with Congresswoman Hayes.
“It was a privilege to have Leader Jeffries once again in Waterbury and to introduce him to more of our vibrant community,” said Congresswoman Hayes. “I deeply appreciate Leader Jeffries for making time to fellowship in our city and get to know the people whose lives are impacted by the work we do in Congress. I join the Zion Baptist Church family in thanking him for being part of a wonderful spirit filled service.”

Zion Baptist Church has been a cornerstone in Waterbury since 1921 and is driven by its mission of making the love of God known in the city and the world. The congregation is led by Pastor Antwaun Richardson, who was officially installed in 2021, and is the youngest pastor ever to serve as Senior Pastor in the 103-year history of the church.
