WATERBURY, Conn. – Today, United States Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) released the following statement after the Trump Administration announced its intention to remove American troops from Syria:
“The decision announced this week by the Administration to withdraw American troops from Syria is both misguided and a betrayal of our Kurdish allies, with whom we have worked extensively on the effort to root out ISIS. Turkey has repeatedly expressed opposition to the Kurds. Turning over operational control to them will only result in tragedy. The Administration must immediately reverse this dangerous decision.”
