Waterbury, CT â€” Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) released the following statement on the Biden Administration’s Executive Actions to address gun violence.

“I applaud the executive orders signed by President Biden announcing that the Administration will be taking common sense action to help combat our country’s gun violence epidemic. From targeting unregulated firearms to preventing individuals at risk to themselves from possession of dangerous weapons, these steps work to close some of the many loopholes that enable suicides, homicides and mass shootings.  I applaud these efforts and look forward to continuing to work with the White House and Congressional Leadership to address the root cause of gun violence and create impactful solutions to end this scourge in our country. No community is immune from the tragedies of gun violence. We must do everything in our power to address this crisis in a comprehensive manner,” said Congresswoman Hayes.
