WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) released the following statement on being sworn-in to serve the Fifth Congressional District in the 118th Congress:
“Serving the Fifth Congressional District is an honor of a lifetime. I am incredibly grateful for the trust and faith my constituents have placed in me to represent them once again in the United States House of Representatives. For over a decade, while teaching Civics, I helped students understand the role each of us plays in protecting our democracy. These lessons are more important than ever, especially after the days of chaos. Despite these delays, I am ready to get to work for the people,” said Congresswoman Hayes. “Today, I enter the 118th Congress with the same dedication, purpose, and love of my community as I did on my first Swearing-in.
