WATERBURY – Today, following the news of a four-day temporary cease-fire in Gaza and the release of 50 hostages, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) issued the following statement:

"The humanitarian pause in Gaza announced yesterday is an important step in the right direction. This four-day pause will allow for the safe return of 50 civilian women and children and for a large number of humanitarian convoys and relief aid, including fuel designated for Gaza, to pass into the region. I thank the Biden Administration for their work in helping to facilitate this agreement and urge continued vigorous efforts to find a peaceful solution for the Israeli and Palestinian people, the release of the remaining hostages, and the defeat of Hamas.”
