WATERBURY – Today, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) released the following statement ahead of hosting Vice President Kamala Harris at Central Connecticut State University on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. While in New Britain, Vice President Harris and Congresswoman Hayes will be joined by Alexis McGill Johnson, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, for a moderated conversation.

“It is an honor to host Vice President Kamala Harris in the Fifth District. I have worked closely with Vice President Harris during her time in the Senate on various legislative issues, and she continues to be a strong partner in the Administration. The upcoming visit will highlight federal action being taken to defend access to reproductive care. During a time when the rights of women are being threatened, having the full support of the Biden-Harris Administration is critical in paving a way forward where every woman has the freedom to make her own healthcare decisions,” said Congresswoman Hayes.
