Yesterday, the conservative majority of the U.S. Supreme Court ignored over two centuries of precedent and delivered a chilling decision granting broad immunity to former President Trump for some official acts. This decision fundamentally changes our constitutional principles, and the system of checks and balance of the three branches of government, by allowing future Presidents immunity from prosecution if they break the law.
No American President - past, present or future should operate unchecked and above reproach. I believe the Supreme Court has set a new, dangerous, and untested precedent that could have major consequences for the future of this nation.
